I'm Taylor Beth Batten, your Librarian!

Hello! I'm Taylor Beth Batten and I'm the librarian here at Southside Elementary!

 

I am a graduate of Shelbyville Central High School and was in Bedford County Schools my whole life. I went to Motlow State Community College to get my Associate's degree in Elementary Education. I then joined the 2+2 program through Tennessee Tech University at Motlow. I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education K-6.

 

Once I graduated college, my first teaching job was at Harris Middle School. I was there for two years. I taught sixth grade and was cheerleading coach. I had some major life changes which took me over to Murfreesboro and Rutherford County Schools for a year. I taught sixth grade and was cheerleading coach at Siegel Middle School. I missed my home town so came back to Shelbyville and took a fourth-grade job at Southside. I taught fourth grade for three years and am now I'm the librarian!

 

I recently graduated with my Master's Degree as a Media Specialist in Library Science from Trevecca University. 

 

I'm so excited about this school year and all the wonderful things happening at Southside!
